Last weekend, February 9 & 10, the Pirates raided MacEwan University for the Fast Eddies Sprint Invite! Over twenty Pirates took to the water and raced up a storm—winning 20 events plus two Swiminator Events! William Cosgrove won the 13-14 Mens Swiminator, while Ryan Boll & Brevan Wagner One-Two’d the 15 & older Swiminator. Our Lady Pirates put in strong performances in the Swiminator with Ally McCrimmon and Alisa Fald coming in runner up in each of their age groups.
Rewriting the Record Books—4 Team Records were broken over the weekend! Alisa Fald smashed the 50 & 100 Free records, while Jewel Shewchuk body-slammed the 100 IM and 100 Fly records.
Gold Medal Winners: Ryan Boll won 6 events; William Cosgrove, Alisa Fald, Payton Loon, & Jewel Shewchuk Won 3 events each; and Brevan Wagner won 2 events
Silver & Bronze: Dakota Dotzlaf silvered in 2 events; Kyla Fald, Allyssa McCrimmon, Garrett McCrimmon, & Tegan Smith each took a Silver in a event; Julia Needham & Marley Steeves took a bronze each

Great Swimming Pirates!
On Wednesday, December 13, 2017, several Parkland, Stony Plain, and Spruce Grove Swimmers got an opportunity to represent their High Schools in the Metro Edmonton High School Athletic Association Championship Swim Meet, which was held at the Kinsmen Pool in Edmonton.
15 year old, Beavan Wagner—representing Spruce Grove Composite High School—WON the 50m backstroke(setting a Metro Record), and placed 4th in the 400m freestyle.
15 year old Jewel Shewchuck—representing Spruce Grove Composite High School—took Silver in the 200m IM, Bronzed in the 50m backstroke, and Bronzed again as a member of the 4×50 Free Relay
16 year old Alisa Fald—representing Memorial Composite High School—brought home Silver in the 100m IM and placed 6th in the 50m Breaststroke.
17 year old Dylan Bacchus—representing Memorial Composite High School—placed 4th in the 50m backstroke and placed 6th in prelims of the 400m freestyle.
It is great to see Pirates representing their High Schools in this activity!

Must be able to swim 25m of freestyle or backstroke.
