Parkland Pirates Aquatic Club

Dear Pirate Swim Families

What a year! Even though the season came to an abrupt end, it was a very positive year. In the water we came closer to realizing our vision of becoming, pound-for-pound and stroke-for-stroke the best Team in Alberta. Our swimmers demonstrated poise behind the blocks, raced strong, and the spirit we brought was high. That spirit was also seen and heard in the stands! On the dry side, we gained experience hosting provincial meets, saw a large increase in official certification, and it was refreshing to see the level of parent involvement & participation in this year’s AGM.

Helping kids become better people, through excellence is an everyday theme that defines the Parkland Pirates. We will continue to work and seek out ways to transform the pool and pool deck to serve as something more than just learning physical skills. The value of committing to the Team goes above and beyond great instruction and fast swimming. What a swimmer can gain by pursuing a dream, seeking personal achievement, or just wanting to improve a skill can result in an endless array of personal skills that can be learned and applied daily. We help kids become better people by allowing the sport and team to serve as a classroom for life growth.

With the Parkland Pirates, you are getting what you pay for and a whole lot more! From favorable coach to swimmer ratios to a great amount of quality attention. We have carefully structured each level to transition to the next with an appropriate increase in challenge and commitment with the end game in mind. A life after the Parkland Pirates involves University, and we go about our business preparing Pirates to swim in University. Every child on the Parkland Pirates has the ability to be good enough to move up through our program and eventually swim in University or College—if they are willing to put in the work, learn the skills, and be brave.

I want to thank each of you for your support last season; as well as, Coach Alisa, Coach Dakota and our Board of Directors. 2020-2021 season registration will be open August 4th with anticipated start dates occurring in the first few weeks of school.
Thank you again.
